FAQ

Do you tattoo minors?

  • Some of the artists will tattoo minors, so we recommend checking with the artist prior to scheduling an appointment. The following would be required for anyone under the age of 18 receiving a tattoo:

    • A parent or legal guardian must be present at the time of the procedure.

    • Both the client and the parent/legal guardian must provide a legal form of identification.

    • A notarized copy of a parental consent form (can be downloaded here), must be presented at the time of the procedure. We also have print copies available at our studio.

Do you do piercings?

  • Yes we do! Grasshopper is our resident piercer, and more information can be found on his artist page! Piercings are available as walk-ins from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm every Tuesday through Friday, and appointment only on Saturdays.

  • Piercings for minors follow the same requirements as tattoos (above), but Grasshopper will pierce lobes of ages 7 & up!

Do you take tattoo walk-ins?

  • Yes! We take walk-ins from 11 AM to 7 PM Tuesday thru Saturday.

How much will my tattoo cost? Can I get an estimate?

  • There are many factors that go into pricing a tattoo, and each artist's rate is different. We recommend scheduling a consultation with the artist of your choice to get a better idea of what the tattoo will cost. During the consultation, we also recommend letting the artist know of any budget restrictions you may have.

What is the shop's minimum?

  • The shop minimum for walk-in tattoos is $100. Artists may have varying minimums for their custom appointments.

What is the deposit for? If I have to cancel, is it refundable?

  • ALL deposits are non-refundable. Tattoos do include preparation prior to the appointment, sometimes requiring hours of planning and designing, so deposits guarantee the artists are compensated for this time. We understand emergencies do arise, and if given enough time, artists often can reschedule you without requiring a second deposit. No call, no shows result in immediate forfeiting of the deposit. We just ask that you be considerate of the artist's time.

  • If all is well and you make your appointment, the deposit is applied towards the final cost of the tattoo. Specifications on when the deposit is applied (if having multiple sessions) and the amount of the deposit differs between each artist.

How do I set up an appointment?

  • The artists at Frenchtown Tattoo Company book and handle their own appointments. Each artist has a portfolio page that explains how they book appointments. The portfolio pages can be found on our Tattoo Artists page.

How can I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

  • It is recommended that clients eat a meal and drink plenty of water prior to being tattooed. It is NOT recommended to come in with an empty stomach. Frenchtown Tattoo Company is in close proximity of many highly recommended restaurants, both in Frenchtown and on Historic Main Street.

How do I care for my tattoo afterwards?

Do you provide tattoo removal?

  • If you are considering getting a coverup tattoo or just simply want a tattoo gone, we recommend checking out Ink-Remedy Tattoo Removal, which is located inside Frenchtown Tattoo Company.
